Grandsay is a product by Interskill. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect, why, who helps us, and how you stay in control. Questions: hello@grandsay.com.
What we collect
From you, the buyer: your name, email address, the order (including extra copies), and, if you arrived from an ad or link, the campaign tags in that link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content). Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
About your parent: their first name, what you call them, their phone number, country, time zone, language, the best time to call, and any note you write for the interviewer.
When calls begin: recordings of the calls, transcripts, and the chapters written from them, plus anything family members add, like photos or corrections.
How we use it
- To take your order, send your receipt and gift card, and answer your questions.
- To call your parent at the time you chose, and to write and print the book.
- To understand which pages and ads work, only if you allow it (see cookies below).
We only send emails about your order. We don't sell your personal information.
Recordings
- We never use recordings to train AI.
- The interviewer is an AI and says so at the start of every call. On the first call it asks your parent for permission to record. If they say no, nothing is recorded.
- Recordings are kept so the QR codes in the book keep playing. You can download every recording at any time, and ask us to delete them.
- Only the family members you invite can read the stories or play the recordings.
Cookies and trackers
These are every tracker on grandsay.com, and what each one does:
- Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms). Tells us whether our Facebook and Instagram ads lead to visits and orders. It records page views, when you view the gift page, start checkout and buy, and sets the cookies _fbp and _fbc. The Pixel only loads after you allow it, and it does not run on gift card or form links.
- PostHog (PostHog Inc.). Product analytics: page views and clicks, sent through our own domain. Session recording is turned off. It sets a cookie named ph_…_posthog only after you allow it. Secret links (like gift card links) are removed before anything is sent.
- Stripe. Runs the payment form on our gift page and uses cookies (__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid) to prevent fraud. These are needed to pay and are not used for ads.
- Google Consent Mode. Our pages send your cookie choice in the Google Consent Mode format. We don't currently load any Google analytics or ad tags.
- Our own: gs_region (remembers whether your area requires opt-in consent), gs_consent (your choice, kept in your browser), and a private cookie that lets you reopen your order page after following your email link.
In the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland and Quebec, analytics and ad trackers stay off until you accept. Elsewhere they are on until you decline.
How to opt out
- Choose Decline in the cookie banner, or use the Do not sell or share my info page at any time.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out automatically.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Who helps us
We share data only with the services that run Grandsay for us:
- Stripe (payments)
- Supabase (our database)
- Vercel (website hosting)
- Resend (order emails)
- PostHog (analytics, only with your permission)
- Meta (ad measurement, only with your permission)
Before the first call, we'll add the phone and transcription services that make the calls to this list. Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries.
How long we keep it
Order and payment records are kept as long as accounting and tax law require. Your parent's details are kept while the service is active, and deleted if you get a refund and ask us to. Recordings and chapters are kept so the book keeps working, until you ask us to delete them.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data, or your parent's, at any time. Your parent can ask too. Write to hello@grandsay.com and we'll answer within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
Age
Buyers must be 18 or older. Grandsay is not meant for children, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email customers before it takes effect.
